Korean skincare trends have had their share of virality. With the Hallyu Wave or Korean Wave spreading, here’s the guide to one of K-beauty’s most popular skincare goodies by Goodal.

The Product:
Under the slogan of, “Good All Natural Remedy,” Goodal is a brand that promises to provide a clear, bright skin tone with the use of modern technology, infusing the skin with the vitality and energy of nature. It includes formulations focused on quality ingredients actively sourced from special, natural and wild Amazonian plants.
International spokesperson, Irene Kim of Goodal shares, “Goodal in itself is known for its all-natural and plant-based ingredients. While Vitamin C is known to boost the skin’s collagen production, provide anti-oxidants, and capable of brightening dull skin, making it more radiant, Green tangerines are said to contain 10 times more vitamin C than mature tangerines. These tangerines can only be collected for 4 weeks in early August-September of the year. This Green Tangerine Vita C Serum + contains 70% green tangerine extract, plus pure essential oils while the Vita C Cream is formulated with 62% revitalizing green tangerine extracts. These products are said to combat uneven skin tone, fight blemishes and dark spots, provide long-lasting hydration and a brighter skin tone.
The Application:
The Green Tangerine Vita C Serum+ comes contained in a sturdy yellow glass bottle and topped with a pastel green cap. The serum, dispensed via a pump, is yellow, however, there are no artificial pigments added and the colour you see is from natural pigments. It has a fresh, citrusy smell and has a gel-like consistency. Once you spread it out, it feels watery and cool.
Although vitamin C can cause a stingy feeling on sensitive skin at times, the vitamin C used in this collection, ascorbyl glucoside, is stable against light and non-irritating. I applied the serum after my follow up of cleanser and toner combined with the cream. The Vita C Cream is super-packed with antioxidants and natural active ingredients combined with arbutin (natural skin brightener) and niacinamide (vitamin B). I applied the serum to my face and gently tapped it for absorption followed with the cream. Both of its application together maximizes the efficacy of Vitamin C.
Sheet masks are the quickest formula for an immediate and big boost of vitamins and moisture, a fun way of relaxation. The Green Tangerine Vita C Mask sheet is a natural one containing green tangerine extracts. It delivers a moisturising and hydrating glow to the face. It helps the skin by getting a higher concentration of vitamins and gives a soothing effect on your skin.
Irene also advises, “For bright skin and blemishes relief, Green Tangerine works as a cherry to the cupcake. The Verdict:
Although it can be used both morning and night time, we suggest you add the serum to your skincare routine slowly and then build up a twice-daily tolerance. I have been using the combination of serum and cream diligently for the last two weeks and have received quite fruitful results. Upon application, it delivers a cool soothing effect to the face.
The Vita C serum and cream worked to provide long-lasting hydration and you can see a brighter, more even skin tone emerging! Being ethanol-free (alcohol-free), the formula might be a little sticky. It leaves a sticky residue on the face but eventually disappears if you continuously keep patting it. It is like a fast-absorbing gel-like serum.
Containing different plant-derived ingredients, the cream has a soft, cool texture and evenly spreads. It leaves you with a dewy and translucent complexion. It also gave a soothing effect and kept my skin hydrated, making it a winter goodie as well!
While I can’t vouch for the serum’s claim on the effectiveness on dark spots and blemishes in just two weeks, on the other hand, my skin has definitely brightened and has given a good glowing radiance. It adds great vitality and energy to the skin too.
