With no possible occasion to wear makeup this year, skincare took a front seat and I decided to look after my skin too with MyGlamm’s first skincare line, GLOW – and it does what it promised!
Skincare isn’t like instant coffee, it requires patience and perseverance thus it has always been an aspect that was either procrastinated or given up. However, in the last few years with the rise of Korean and Ayurvedic skincare regimes, skincare has regained its lost glory.
However, to achieve great skin, you do not need a plethora of products and a 99-step routine. A pro tip – a simple CTM routine would be more effective than having a strenuous ritual that eventually leads to procrastination and quitting. You can have a self-indulging spa day for the remaining 96 steps!
The European beauty brand MyGlamm launched its first-ever skincare line GLOW. The company recognises the importance of skincare and has created a range of products that focus on giving you a glow-from-within effect. With so much time in hand and not so much to do, I decided to religiously try out and use MyGlamm’s first-ever skincare line, GLOW.
I was sent a beautiful package housing their GLOW Iridescent Brightening Foam Cleanser, GLOW Iridescent Brightening Body Toner and GLOW Iridescent Brightening Moisturizing Cream. Apart from this, the line also includes GLOW Iridescent Brightening Body Lotion, GLOW Iridescent Brightening Sheet Mask, GLOW Iridescent Brightening Eye Cream, and GLOW Iridescent Brightening Essence.
The Packaging:
MyGlamm is one of those brands that put their heart and soul from the inception of the product to its performance. Every element of the GLOW range product is designed with precision intended to create a product that is luxurious as well as efficient.
The stunning clear and gold packaging will add a luxe element to your vanity. The clear acrylic looks and feels great while being travel friendly. The Foam Cleanser and Body Toner have a golden pump that dispenses the product smoothly and evenly. The Brightening Moisturizing Cream, on the other hand, comes in a jar and is very easy to use.
The Products:
All the products from this line are infused with Rosehip oil and pearl powder that contributes to the ‘iridescent’ effect on the skin. The first of the three products I tried was the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Foam Cleanser. It’s a mild gel cleanser infused with coconut-derived goodness that moisturises your skin making it soft and supple. This cleanser is gentle yet deeply cleanses the skin of any dirt and pollution. The cleanser doesn’t lather much but still gets the job done. It is one of the best face cleansers to get rid of the remaining makeup. The O2 bubble technology helps maintain the pH of the skin, while the Rosehip oil, a vitamin elixir containing vitamins A, C, D & E, hydrates the skin thoroughly. The Pearl powder intended for a holographic glow adds a natural shine to your face.
The second product was the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Body Toner. This is probably my favourite product of them all, as the soothing effect is simply exhilarating! This toner is hyaluronic acid, a substance that holds in moisture and keeps the skin from creating excessive oil. The texture is smooth and does the job of toner. This one also has Rosehip oil and pearl powder that gives you an enviable natural iridescent glow.
Finally, the last step of my routine was the GLOW Iridescent Brightening Moisturizing Cream. I would term this cream as a day moisturiser as I have an oily skin type. It is light and blends into the skin very quickly. It is a great moisturiser for dry skin type too. Enriched with the nutrients of Rosehip oil and a hydro crystal complex system, this iridescent brightening cream locks in moisture, giving you soft, younger-looking skin. The moisturiser does not irritate your skin and is very gentle.
The Final Take:
Ideal for almost every skin type, the MyGlamm GLOW range has effective and extremely alluring products. If you are worried you will look like a disco ball by the end of the routine, you will not. The pearl powder is extremely fine – much of it depends on how and how much product you use. A dollop size of the moisturiser could potentially replace your liquid highlighter if you are going for a glow-from-within makeup look– it’s very subtle though!
Adopting good skincare practices is the first step to attaining the glow and it all starts with investing in products that suite your skin, concerns and preferences. It would be interesting to experience what more MyGlamm has up their shelves!
