Celebrated designer Payal Singhal, known for her much sought-after India Modern aesthetic and premium accessory brand Joey & Pooh, founded by visionaries Shivani Rawat & Paresh Sharda collaborate to create a line of exquisite, intricately handcrafted headbands just in time for the festive season.

Known for her creative collaborations year after year across different lifestyle categories, this collaboration is Payal Singhal’s debut foray into the hair accessories space. “I am really excited about this collaboration as hair accessories is a unique category and I haven’t worked on something like this yet. It’s a coming together of like-minded aesthetics with the part-vintage, part-quirky and all-round free-spirited design philosophy which both labels entail.” – says Payal.

Fashion, apart from being an expression of one’s personality, is about spreading joy. It’s a means to lift spirits, the silver lining around the proverbial cloud. This is the sentiment behind the Joey & Pooh X Payal Singhal collaboration.

The limited-edition includes 17 variant headbands that are whimsical with an easy-going boho-cool sensibility. Taking a cue from Payal Singhal’s latest collection ‘Parvaneh’ which expresses modernism through the language of traditional Indian art, this collection of headbands offers the perfect accessory for those endless work-from-home days and even for the refreshing drive outs, invigorating evenings with a group of close friends and celebrating intimate gatherings during festivals.

Each headband is intricately detailed using traditional embroidery techniques as well as modern 3D embellishments, with signature #PSPrints, metallic tassels, detachable hangings and pompoms. The flora and fauna inspired motifs are crafted in a neutral palette of monochrome, rose pink and stone with bursts of lime, blue and peach.

Seizing the spirit of the times, these eclectic headbands are packed inside a beautiful magnetic box, designed in signature floral prints, and can be repurposed to store trinkets. The curation involves a bookmark narrating the ideation behind the collaboration, making it a stylish yet sustainable package.

“Payal, Paresh and I were determined to join hands and create a distinctive product from the very beginning. It’s unbelievable that we have been able to put together an entire collection, given the finite amount of time and circumstances. I am really happy and confident that this collaboration will spin a fresh perspective on headbands as festive accessories. Our intention has always been to generate a sense of joy when you hold these beautifully handcrafted headbands. Hope we live by it and spark some smiles!” says Shivani Rawat.

In the four years since its launch, accessory label ‘Joey & Pooh’ has become synonymous with their quirky handmade hair accessories that have come to enjoy a coveted spot in the closet of style mavens across India.
