Designer Vaishali Shadangule’s virtual live show will showcase the AW’2020 collection ‘Rebirth’ in Milan on the 27th of September.
In a world that is forced to navigate all aspects of life, fashion becomes an interesting negotiating force that balances functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics. Rooted in finding this balance, Indian designer Vaishali S takes her work to the international arena as she features her 2020 Autumn-Winter collection “Rebirth” in Milan, which will be streamed live.
Eternally inspired by the largess of nature, Vaishali Studio strives to explore the idea of rebirth through weaving: as a narrative of the confluence of the ethereal spirituality of nature and human life. This philosophy is not just reflected in her ideation process but is also realised through meticulous craftsmanship. Whether it is corded Chanderi accessories or the unwavering texture of a Khunn saree, it is a process rooted in the ethics of sustainability.
The collection symbolises rebirth on multiple levels: the rejuvenation of long-treasured mediums of handloom and handweaving traditions, as well as the act of breathing new life into the fabric to stir a harmony of the wisdom of the past and the hope of the future. It is a collection that is inclusive of the diversity of humankind, a fact that will also be represented on the runway via models across ages, colour and ethnicities. With inclusivity as an underlying ideology, the work recognizes the plurality of human life. The show itself delves into multiple representations of inclusivity: exploring the role of rebirth through human relationships
like motherhood, sisterhood, etc.
